Too Much Tessa: Has She Taken Over The Young and the Restless?

On The Young and the Restless, Tessa started off badly, got a little bit better, then became much, much worse.

Let’s recap. Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) first appeared in Genoa City with a sob story about living in her car, and whimpered her way into Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) house.

She cried more about her missing sister, Crystal, explaining away all her lies as needing to protect her. Once Crystal was found – and saved – Tessa turned down Mariah (Camryn Grimes) for a relationship – which she had every right to do.

What she did not have a right to do was steal Mariah’s diary and use what Mariah wrote there as lyrics for a song she swore was an original work.

Mariah forgave her and the pair moved in together. Until Mariah found out that Tessa was blackmailing Sharon (Sharon Case), Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Victoria (Amelia Heinle), and Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) about JT’s (Thad Luckinbill) death. Oh, and she lied about that, too.

Is it time for Tessa to leave town and never look back? What over 10,000 think:

Go Away
Yes, 90% are shouting from the rooftops. Go away, Tessa. You have destroyed every single relationship you ever had, and burned bridges with anyone who tried to help you, including Sharon and Devon (Bryton James).

You are not…what’s the word we’re looking for? A good person. You are not good for Mariah. You are not good for us.

Stay Awhile
And then there are the 10% who are on Tessa’s side. If Mariah can forgive her, who are we to quibble? Their relationship has been unusual from the start, so why should it turn conventional now?

The women who killed JT deserved a little torture, and they can certainly afford the blackmail without so much as a blink. Tessa had a rough life. If whining about it is good enough for Victor, why not Tessa, too?
