Daytime star Christel Khalil is best known for her role as Lily on “The Young and the Restless.”

During Khalil’s time as a Y&R lead actress, her character has suffered through a paternity disaster, an internet predator, a sexually transmitted disease, an evil twin husband, and even cancer.

To honor Khalil, we present you with five fun facts about this amazing actress.

5. Her Very First Role

Khalil made her acting debut in 1993 on “The Sinbad Show” in an unnamed role. Later, in 1996, she acted alongside Bryton James (Devon) on “Family Matter” where she guest starred as Angela.

4. Mom Life

In 2010, Khalil gave birth to her son, Michael Caden Hensley. She chose to labor at home and had a water birth.

3. Best Friends

Khalil’s long time best friend is Bryton James, in fact, he’s Michael’s Godfather. Her other Y&R bestie Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe) was a bridesmaid at her wedding.

2. Y&R History

Khalil started playing Lily Winters in 2002. Her original stint lasted until 2005 when she decided to leave daytime behind. Fans weren’t happy, and the show asked her to return just over a year later. She came back in late 2006 with no plans of leaving again.

1. Trailblazer

Khalil was the first minority actress to win the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actress. She took home the trophy in 2012.
