Former General Hospital star Vanessa Marcil has slowly been getting back to the business of living life after the death of her best friend and former GH co-star, Suzanne Whang, but also after being hacked. Now she has taken that next step — getting active on social media — she reveals it happened thanks to a surprising source.

Captain, My Captain

It was the former Captain Kirk of Star Trek, of all people, who brought Marcil back to Twitter, or so the beautiful actress revealed on Tuesday in a surprising post. She retweeted something actor William Shatner wrote — her first tweet after a two-month absence — along with the following sentiment.

“Ima have to return to twitter even after being hacked because @WilliamShatner feed is my fav show. Smart, funny, honest and hot. Carry on Will…. #imback #crush,” she said, earning the love of Shatner fans everywhere.

Privacy Needed
The Daytime Emmy winner also shared several tweets that were directed at Shatner that shared a similar theme — supporting the idea of leaving actors alone if they’re on their own time, enjoying dinner out, and that all they owe their audience is a good performance. This has been a recurring theme for William Shatner for a while.

After all, his iconic role has made him instantly recognizable to millions of fans of the Star Trek franchise in all of its forms. Sci-fi lovers can certainly keep up with the devotion shown by soap fans, so it’s understandable that Marcil would be able to relate.

Vanessa Marcil Is Back

But that wasn’t all the former GH star had to say. Her next tweet reminded us why we find her so adorable, open, and honest — she keeps it all very real.

“I’m back! Forgot how Twitter works…I feel the need to be heard. I say something. You guys either respond with something overly nice or super mean? No grey area. I missed you.”

Well, there’s no need to miss anyone now — because she’s back and she’s going to have a lot to say — and we can’t wait. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
