On General Hospital, Sonny put his dad, Mike, in a facility where they can better take of his Alzheimer’s Disease — at least during the day. There, Mike (Max Gail) met fellow patient, Yvonne (Janet Hubert), and became friends. The friendship then turned romantic.
They even did a little escape job to hit a jazz club. Yvonne’s husband, Marcus (Nigel Gibbs) was not amused. Even though his wife can barely remember him, that doesn’t mean he wants to watch her fall in love with some other guy.
Sonny (Maurice Benard) wants his father to be happy. And if Yvonne makes him happy, then damn the torpedoes and full speed ahead, Dad! It’s how Sonny lives his life. Why shouldn’t Mike?

Sympathy Pains
Sonny is wrong, 67% judge. Just because he doesn’t care who he hurts on the way to getting what he wants – right, Ava (Maura West)? Right, Sam (Kelly Monaco)? Right, Karen and Lily and Brenda and Jax? – doesn’t mean everyone lives their lives that way.
In fact, most people try not to live that way. Not to mention, you feel sorry for Marcus. It’s bad enough for him seeing Yvonne deteriorate, now he has to watch her giddy over Mike?

Sonny is never wrong, 33% remind. He is the most moral man in Port Charles, so if he deems a situation acceptable, it instantly becomes so.
Screw Marcus. Heck, even screw Yvonne and the notion that, thanks to her illness, she is not in the right mind to make a decision about Mike one way or the other.
If Mike wants Yvonne, if Yvonne makes him happy, then he should have her. No question. A happy Mike is a Mike Sonny doesn’t have to worry or feel as guilty about.
