It has been a rough couple of years for General Hospital star James Patrick Stuart when it comes to losing musicians he’s close to. He recently shared the news about another such loss — this time it was a friend of 25 years.

As his fans know, the actor is also a singer and recently released his brand new CD called The Apple Tree in which he worked on with several people and was a tribute to his father Chad Stuart of the duo Chad & Jeremy. Now it looks like he’s lost one of those people who helped him with his dream project.

“My friend of 25 years, Michael Sherwood, has passed. He was a phenomenally gifted composer, musician, and singer whose contribution to “the Apple Tree” was essential. He wrote “Mr Give” and lent vocals and keyboards to “Lighthouse” and “Good Morning Sunrise”.

“I am honored to have known and learned from him and would have happily listened to him play forever. Hope one day that I can. Thank you, Michael. We are forever changed. #theappletreealbum”

In July of 2018, the actor told his followers that another dear friend passed away suddenly when two-time Emmy-winning composer, lyricist, conductor, pianist, and producer, Glen Roven died at 60 years old. “Glen Roven, my dear friend, who wrote so much brilliant music, including the cello solo for my cover of ‘Book of Love’, passed away suddenly today.”

A Huge Loss

The July before that, in 2017, his neighbor — and Linkin Park lead singer Chester Bennington — was taken way too soon as the age of 41. The incredibly talented musician had taken his own life.

“Chester was so gifted, charismatic, genuine, practical & aware. LOVED his family & laughed a lot. Didn’t see it coming. Madness. Huge loss,” Stuart tweeted at the time. Soap Hub sends condolences to Stuart as well as the family and friends of Michael Sherwood during this sad time. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
