Briana Lane was given quite a challenge this past summer when she was tasked with quickly taking over the role of Brook Lynn Quartermaine after actress Amanda Setton opted not to return to General Hospital after the coronavirus hiatus due to her pregnancy.
Goodbye To Briana Lane
Although we were always told it was a temporary recast while Setton was out on extended maternity leave, it wasn’t hard to get used to Lane in the role and for her to endear the character to us. Alas, Monday was Lane’s last day appearing as Brook Lynn and Setton is scheduled to return when Brook makes her way back to Port Charles from Brooklyn (the New York City borough).
Lane took to social media to say farewell to the role and the friends she made along the way. Here is the goodbye in her own words:
“What a wild and beautiful ride. Playing the role of Brook Lynn Quartermaine on #GH has been an absolute joy and honor. Feel lucky to have been surrounded by such a gifted cast, kind crew, and passionate producers and it’s an experience that I will always hold close to my heart.
“Huge thanks to all the fans who have been so welcoming to the new kid! Your support has made the transition for this first time soap-er truly seamless! Passing the baton back to the beautiful and mega-talented Amanda.

Wally Kurth, who plays Brook Lynn’s dad, Ned, gave his own goodbye to his short-term on-screen daughter with this tweet:
“Brava Bri! I thoroughly enjoyed working with you – even tho Ned didn’t ACT like it! You seamlessly stepped into the role under very difficult mask-wearing protocols and made it look easy. It’s true, I feel like Ned has two daughters now.”
When we next see Brook Lynn, we expect her to have a big surprise for Valentin (James Patrick Stuart). He is likely going to be a Papa again. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
