Cristina Yang was on Grey’s Anatomy for 10 seasons and gave us a decade of laughs, heartbreak, and all the feels. Not only was she Meredith Grey’s best friend, but she was also the best surgeon in the game. Come back to us, Cristina!
Though she’s off in Switzerland probably saving the world, here are the top five reasons we miss Cristina (Sandra Oh) on Grey’s Anatomy.
1. Best Advice
Cristina was never afraid to tell it like it was. Though she sometimes came off as a bit insensitive or harsh, she was always honest. The doctors on Grey’s always knew Cristina would keep it real and not sugarcoat anything.
2. Meredith’s Person
Meredith needs her BFF back! Though they both had men in their lives over the course of their time together on the show, they were always each other’s soulmates. They were there for one another during the good times and the horrible ones — and there was plenty of both.

3. Oozed Confidence
No one will ever say Cristina wasn’t confident in her abilities as a surgeon. She was always eager to jump into surgery and prove she was one of the best surgeons out there. While other interns were more hesitant and nervous, Cristina took every opportunity that came her way — and even grabbed ones that didn’t.
4. Career Woman
Cristina never got her priorities confused. She always knew her ultimate goal was to be the best surgeon ever, so when it came to decisions regarding her professional and personal life, her professional life always won — which didn’t always sit well with the men in her life.
5. No Apologies
Cristina’s best quality was that she didn’t care what people thought of her. She wasn’t insecure and 100% believed in herself and her abilities. While other interns were trying to be friends with each other, she kept her head in the game — except, perhaps, when it came to Meredith.
