The Bachelor and the other shows in Bachelor Nation have fans who seem to always root for the couples to work out after the cameras stop rolling, but there are definitely a few relationships that viewers knew were never going to work.

While some Bachelor breakups have left fans absolutely heartbroken — Shawn Booth and Kaitlyn Bristowe, for example — other splits don’t necessarily come as a surprise. Here are the top five Bachelor couples we knew wouldn’t make it.

Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi
Jake was The Bachelor back in 2010 and decided to propose to Vienna, who was just 23 years old at the time. Vienna was not the practical choice for Jake, as she was still so young. It was clear they were never going to work out and sure enough, they split just a few months after The Bachelor finale aired.

Ben Flajnik and Courtney Robertson
Ben fell hard for the bad girl on his season, Courtney. She was not afraid to play dirty to get Ben’s attention and Courtney certainly didn’t make friends with the other girls in the house.

Though Ben seemed to be head over heels for Courtney, they didn’t have a very solid foundation. They ended up breaking off their engagement six months after the finale aired.

Jordan Kimball and Jenna Johnson
Jordan and Jenna met and fell in love on Bachelor in Paradise in 2018, despite both being a bit wild and crazy. They were really into one another and decided to get engaged during the finale.

But fans of the show didn’t think they’d make it down the aisle. Sure enough, right as the finale was airing, rumors began swirling Jenna was cheating on Jordan and the pair split.

Emily Maynard and Jef Holm
Though Emily and Jef made a very cute couple during their time together on The Bachelorette, they were both from different worlds. Emily was living in Charlotte at the time with her young daughter, Ricki, while Jef was living the life of a bachelor.

Jef tried to make it work with Emily after the show aired and he wanted to be there for her daughter, but it just didn’t work out.

Juan Pablo Galavis and Nikki Ferrell
If there was ever a Bachelor relationship doomed from the start, it was this one! First off, Juan Pablo not only didn’t propose to Nikki during the finale, but he also wasn’t even able to say, “I love you.”

They clearly liked one another, but it was just never going to work out between these two. They broke up a little more than six months after the finale aired and exactly no one was surprised.
