Sophie Turner has great respect for her beloved Theon Greyjoy on Game of Thrones. The actress, who plays Sansa Stark, just shared a tribute to her co-star following last night’s highly anticipated Battle for Winterfell episode.

The entire group, sans Cersei Lannister, who decided to stay back at King’s Landing, joined forces to fight the Night King and all of the dead. Theon, played by Alfie Allen, reunited with the Stark family in the second episode in order to redeem himself after what he did to the Stark family many seasons ago.

For those who don’t remember, Theon grew up with the Stark family even though he was technically a captive. Despite not being a Stark himself, he was treated like a son, but he ended up leaving Winterfell in order to reunite with his family in the Iron Islands and decided to take Winterfell from the Starks.

The Starks believed Theon had killed their two little brothers, Bran and Rickon, but he actually never did. He was then taken captive by Ramsay Bolton and was tortured and mutilated. When Sansa married Ramsay, she saw how broken Theon, who was calling himself ‘Reek,’ was. Despite his fear of Ramsay, Theon helped Sansa escape him.

So, last week, it was a massive deal when Theon returned to Winterfell in order to fight with the Stark family and protect Bran, the boy who he took Winterfell from so many years ago. In last night’s episode, Theon did everything he could to protect Bran from the White Walkers and the Night King, but he was tragically killed.

Following Theon’s death, Turner shared a photo of him on her Instagram page along with the caption, “To Alfie and to Theon…. ‘You’re a good man,’ evoking Bran’s last words to Theon before the latter was killed.
