After revealing on social media how hard it was to be away from her son Arthur, Selma Blair is finally reunited with him — after being away for two long months receiving grueling treatment for multiple sclerosis.
The stunning actress shared a very sweet photo of herself and the 7-year-old to Instagram on Thursday and in doing so, she opened up about her emotional reunion with her little boy.
“When I came home, I sobbed so loud in Arthur’s dad’s arms. Only he could know what I am fighting for. Our son. And he gave Arthur a carefree, fishing filled boyish summer and my gratitude shook me. I failed as a mom a million times yesterday. And Arthur was fine,” she wrote.
“The world didn’t stop. I was exhausted and just wanted to let us transition into each other’s space and there was an empty fridge and a lagging AC and I don’t know where anything is and it smells weird and he noticed my big belly but likes my bald head and I smell dog pee with my chemo senses and and and. Breathe. I cried. He laughed.”
Blair went on to share more. “We slept and woke and he took this. He is golden. Alive. Happy. Thank you universe. I will get there. Have patience. Thank you. All of us. Be gentle. With ourselves and others. It is a wonderful feeling. Thank you to everyone here and in my life who did that for me the last few days. I can do this now.”
This comes just a few days after Blair revealed she missed her son’s birthday because of her treatment. She also revealed she shaved her head because of her health struggles. Blair was officially diagnosed with MS back in August 2018 and has been very open and honest about her health journey ever since. She has been an inspiration to many who have their own challenges they’re facing.
