She’s a television icon and has appeared on many of your favorite television shows over the years, receiving many accolades over the decades. Now, Betty White is celebrating something special and former co-stars are reaching out with well-wishes.

Happy Birthday Betty White

The Emmy-winning White (Mary Tyler Moore; The Golden Girls; The Bold and the Beautiful) is celebrating her 98th (!) birthday today. In addition to her numerous TV roles, White’s also graced the big screen.

In 2009, she appeared in The Proposal, which also starred Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. Now, the two movie stars have teamed up to hilariously serenade the birthday gal with their rendition of Happy Birthday in honor of White.

Reynolds and Bullock aren’t in the same room at the same time (it appears given how the video is cut), but they still manage to play off each other well with tongue-in-cheek remarks as to which of them White likes more.

White is known to have the longest TV career of any entertainer. She’s seen as a pioneer of television, having produced her own sitcom in the 1950s, titled Life With Elizabeth. She won Emmys for playing man-crazy TV personality Sue Ann Nivens (AKA The Happy Homemaker) on Mary Tyler Moore in the 1970s and lovable (but sometimes dim) Rose Nylund on The Golden Girls in the 1980s.

Special Lady and Co-Star

She appeared in another ensemble sitcom show, Hot in Cleveland, which debuted in 2015. In an episode of that series, White reunited with her former MTM co-stars Mary Tyler Moore (Mary), Valerie Harper (Rhoda), Georgia Engel (Georgette), and Cloris Leachman (Phyllis).

A devoted pet advocate, White was wed to the late Allen Ludden, host of Password, one of the many game shows on which she appeared. White hosted her own game show in 1983 titled Just Men! for which she won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Host or Hostess in a Game or Audience Participation Show.

She earned the Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015. Entertainment Hub joins White’s family, friends, and fans in wishing this living legend a happy birthday and many happy returns!
