In a shocking move, Jason Momoa decided to shave his famed beard… at least for now! The former Game of Thrones star shared a video on Instagram Wednesday of himself shaving his iconic facial hair. But don’t worry, it’s all for a good cause!
The Aquaman actor decided to shave in order to raise awareness for recycling, as plastic continues to destroy our oceans. Of course, the man who plays the hero of the sea would want to help save it against its greatest foe. But that beard is so hugely associated with him and the roles he’s played.

“Let’s make a positive change for the health of our planet. Let’s clean up our oceans, our land. Join me on this journey. Let’s make the switch to infinitely recyclable aluminum. Water in cans, not plastic.”
The actor also revealed he hasn’t shaved his beard since 2012, so it’s easy to understand why some fans are freaking out over the change.
