The wait is almost over — Grey’s Anatomy is finally coming back to our television screens very soon, and it looks like the premiere episode of Season 16 is going to be full of drama — just the way the show’s fans like it. And you can now get a glimpse of the upcoming action, thanks to the trailer that was released.
Judging by the sneak peek clip, Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) is forced to complete community service in an orange vest after being fired from the hospital at the end of Season 15. It’s a moment that causes her a bit of embarrassment, to say the least.
For those who don’t remember, Meredith committed insurance fraud in order to allow her patient to undergo surgery. Her boyfriend Andrew DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) took the fall for her initially, but it was eventually revealed to be Meredith’s wrongdoing.
However, Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.) and Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) also lied about Meredith’s involvement, so they’re also fired from the hospital! Who is still working there at this point?!

“Do to criminal activity, Meredith Grey, Alex Karev, and Richard Webber no longer work here,” Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) tells Teddy Altman (Kim Raver), Amelia Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone), and Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) in the teaser. Their faces upon hearing that news flash are absolutely priceless.
Not to mention, it also looks like we’ll finally figure out what happened to Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) after he disappeared into the fog during last season’s finale. We still don’t know if Jackson is going to make it out of this alive, but judging by Maggie Pierce’s (Kelly McCreary) face, it looks to be emotional.
