Eileen Davidson isn’t just a super successful soap star, she’s also an accomplished writer, model, and former reality TV star! She has appeared on Days of Our Lives, The Young and the Restless, and crossed over to The Bold and Beautiful. She was also on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for three seasons.

From her big family to how she met her current husband, here are five fast facts you need to know about Eileen Davidson.

In the Beginning
Davidson, who was born in Artesia, California, is actually the youngest of seven children. She was raised Roman Catholic and attended St. Paul High School.

Model Beginnings
Though she’s an actress now, Davidson began her career as a model. She started working in Mexico City and California. She did both commercials and print work, and on the advice of her roommate, she began taking acting classes and trained at the Staircase Theater.

Standing Out From The Crowd
Davidson got her big break when she landed the role of Ashley Abbott on The Young and the Restless back in 1982 after she beat out more than 100 people. She has taken breaks and the character has been played by other actresses but she has been back and forth in the role to this day. She’s won an Emmy as Ashley and for her roles on DAYS.

Along with her other careers, Davidson is also an author! She wrote a mystery set in the world of a soap opera called Death in Daytime. It was released in 2008. She then released three more called Dial Emmy for Murder, Diva Las Vegas, and Swinging in the Rain.

Finding Love
Davidson met her third husband, Vincent Van Patten, in 2000 after he appeared on The Young and the Restless as one of Ashley’s boyfriends named Christian. The two married in 2003 and have one son.
