Last week on Days of Our Lives, Stefan was shocked to learn that his mother, Vivian Alamain, now played by daytime legend Robin Strasser, had returned from the dead. (How could he possibly be shocked when he lives in Salem?) But, she’s looking a little different — and Strasser explains why.
Yes, yes, of course, she looks different since she’s not being played by the actress who created the tole(and Strasser’s good pal) Louise Sorel, but that’s not what the Daytime Emmy winner is referring to. Instead, she’s talking about her ever-changing hairstyles, courtesy of the wigs she’s been donning on the show.
The actress addressed it in a recent tweet sharing her thoughts behind what’s been going on — and the result is a juicy behind-the-scenes tidbit you’ll love knowing.
“#DOOL seemed to me whenever it suited Vivian she changed her wig to go w/her outfit! My fantasy was #DrROLF brought her to life w/BIG needle-then restored her memory w/BIG needle-& oops-it caused an allergic reaction-her hair fell out-she needed WIGS! I LOVE to play #DressUP;-)”
It’s pretty obvious that Strasser is having the time of her life with her DAYS role and that makes it tremendous fun for the fans of the show watching her. And she certainly has had plenty to do already — including reuniting with her beloved son (who also looks a little different), shooting her arch-enemy, and burying her alive.
Not that Vivian realizes that Kate (Lauren Koslow) is still alive. Been there, done that — she wanted her target to actually be dead this time (unlike with the two previous times she has done this–with Carly and with Maggie), but alas, Vivian wasn’t successful in killing her arch-nemesis.
So what’s next for Strasser’s version of Vivian? We have no idea but we know a couple of things — she’ll have a new wig, she’ll look fabulous in whatever wig she wears, and we’ll have a great time watching her have the time of her life.
