Fans have been missing Thaao Penghlis on Days of Our Lives ever since Abby (then Marci Miller) bonked his character on the head, killing the suddenly-returned-to-bad-guy Andre over a year ago. (Well, we did get a taste during Marlena’s near-death experience.)
The show announced the popular actor would be returning this summer, alongside Leann Hunley’s Anna, but the details have been sketchy.
While we know the two will be appearing together, Anna certainly knows both supposedly dead characters whom Penghlis has played — Andre DiMera and Tony DiMera — so which one will he be playing?
While don’t have an answer for that (though we have our suspicions–more on that further down), we do finally know when the two will appear.
Penghlis took to Instagram to let us all know when he’s be back on the soap he’s called home off and on for nearly 40 years.

So keep an eye out for the pair on July 26! As for which DiMera he’ll be playing, we do know Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) had a door in her secret lair with the initials “AD” — which could mean Andre or Anthony, so that’s not really any help. Anna, of course, would want to have Tony but would he be useful for Kristen to resurrect?
We tend to doubt it. We’re also not sure if the character will be real or a figment of Anna’s or another character’s imagination. But either way, it seems more clues point to Andre. Guess we will all have to tune in to find out! Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
