Ouch! Why No One on Days of Our Lives Should Turn Their Back

Kristen DiMera is a one-woman wrecking ball on Days of Our Lives, whether she’s herself or masquerading as Nicole Walker. Yet for some reason, no one has realized they shouldn’t turn their back on her — ever — and many have paid the price for that foolishness.

Why, just on Monday’s air show alone, two characters were ridiculously trusting that nothing was going to happen to them if they didn’t keep their eye on the loathsome troublemaker. First, there was Gabi (Camila Banus), who knocked that mask and wig right off Nicole’s (Arianne Zucker) head.

When Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) revealed herself, Gabi knew right away about the myth, the legend, the maniac that is Kristen — and yet, did she put up her guard? Noooooo. Come on, Gabi! You’re usually such a smart young woman. You survived jail! You survived being roadkill on the path to Chabby’s happy ever after!

And yet, Gabi turned her back on the woman with nothing left to lose to call the police. Hasn’t living in Salem taught her anything? Lucky for her, Stefan (Brandon Barash) arrived in time to stop Kristen from delivering the final blow.

Well, Stefan apparently is no brain trust either. He literally sees what his sister has done to Gabi. There’s no question left in his mind — she is dangerous. Sure, he knocked Kristen out but does he not know his own family’s bounce-back rate? Hello, does the term “the Phoenix” mean nothing to him?

Most of us folks at home must have just sat there shaking our collective heads, knowing what was going to come back. Like anyone who has ever watched a Friday The 13th horror film, the bad guy always stirs after being knocked to the ground. Sure enough, Kristen shook it off, grabbed the statue, and swatted Stefan — bam!

Even with her Nicole mask on, Kristen was lethal with a prop. She’d already knocked out the late Ted (Gilles Marini) as well as poor Kate (Lauren Koslow). Oh, Salem. As long as Kristen is drawing breath, don’t turn your back on her — you’ll be lucky if you live long enough to regret it. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC.
