A very particular brand of Days Of Our Lives (DOOL) insanity is everyone telling Victor to change over and over again… and believing his promises to do it.

How many times now has Victor (John Aniston) sworn that he’s seen the error of his ways and promised to alter his life for the better?

There was the time decades ago when he discovered Bo (Peter Reckell) was his son. A few years later he learned Isabella was his daughter.

There was his love of Caroline (Peggy McCay) and his supposed love for Kim (Patricia Pease). There were various wives and grandchildren and tear-felt deals with God.

Most recently, Victor promised to walk the straight and narrow in order to keep Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) from walking out on him.

And then he turned around and set up Theresa (Jen Lilley) for drug use – which only ended up costing Brady (Eric Marstolf) joint custody of Tate.

Will Salem’s Greek tycoon ever truly change? Here’s the take from over 5,000 of you:

Of Course Not, Don’t Be Ridiculous
How stupid are the good folks of Salem, 65% of you wonder. Didn’t Oprah teach you that when people tell you who they are by their actions, believe them? How many times does Victor have to tell you? And show you? And smirk about it?

For the Love of Maggie
If Victor loves Maggie, he will, 19% of the audience is clinging to hope – just like Maggie. He promised her that THIS time, things will be different. That last time was absolutely the last time. Ignore the past thirty plus years.

No More Chances
He’ll lose her if he doesn’t change, 15% add, she’s made it clear there will be no more second – or third, or eighth – chances. Victor isn’t the dashing, middle-aged mogul he used to be. His options are a lot more limited now. If he doesn’t want to die alone, he’ll straighten up and fly right. This time. (Maybe.)
