On Days of Our Lives, Eli and Lani have been through a lot more than most prior to their first date (which they have determined will most definitely not be bowling).
They first slept together last Christmas Eve, when Lani (Sal Stowers) caught her boyfriend, JJ (Casey Moss), getting ready for bed with his ex, Gabi (Camilla Banus), Eli’s (Lamon Archey) girlfriend.
Lani assumed they were having sex and not that Gabi was spending the night to keep JJ from killing himself over his guilt in Theo’s shooting and paralysis.
Lani’s guess may have been logical, but it was wrong. Also, wrong? Sleeping with Eli out of spite and keeping it a secret that he’d fathered her baby.
By the time the truth came out and JJ dumped Lani, while Gabi dumped Eli, the couple decided to be co-parents – and nothing more.
But then baby David Abraham was stillborn, and Lani and Eli had nothing more to hold them together.

Yes, 68% cheer! This couple has already been through so much, there is nothing that could come between them now.
From the beginning, Abe (James Reynolds) was pushing Lani towards Eli over JJ, even though he couldn’t articulate quite why he felt his daughter belonged with this particular man. Obvious answer aside, of course.
Give It Time
Maybe, a more cautious 20% of you suggest. Right now, they’re neither good nor bad. Which, on soaps, isn’t a ringing endorsement. On soaps, you’re supposed to love or love to hate. Middle of the road means a couple isn’t clicking. But they still might.
Dullsville
Eli wasn’t dull with Gabi, and Lani wasn’t dull with JJ. But, to the remaining 12% of the audience, they are very dull together. Fix this, DAYS!
