- Alfonso first aired as Hope Williams in the spring of 1983, but she could have had two more years playing Hope if she wanted. She was first asked to audition in 1981 but wasn’t ready to leave her parents and make the big move to Los Angeles from the East Coast. Instead, she continued with her modeling career and the role went to Tammy Taylor. The pre- Alfonso version of Hope had a short romance with Jake Kositchek, who was later revealed as the Salem Strangler.
