The hunk quotient on The Bold and the Beautiful just shot up a notch or three! Actor Matthew Atkinson, best known to soap fans as Summer’s ill-dated husband Austin on The Young and the Restless, has been cast as the new Thomas Forrester.
Soap Opera Digest broke the casting news. Atkinson will start airing on Thursday, March 14.
In 2018, Sally (Courtney Hope) and Thomas were given a happy ending when the Forrester heir (then played by Pierson Fode) returned to the show to take Sally out of town.
After the show brought Sally back, we learned that Thomas had returned to Caroline (Linsey Godfrey) and their son Douglas.
Now that Thomas is returning how might that affect Sally’s new romance with Wyatt (Darin Brooks)?

It’s likely that Thomas will also share scenes with his sister Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and bond with his two nieces, Kelly and Phoebe.
In addition to his run as Austin on YR, Atkinson’s other credits include Parenthood, Jane By Design, and The Middle.
